From his rainbow colored hair to high-stakes Octagon performances, Sean O’Malley has never been shy about living large.  But his latest headline isn’t about fighting at all. It’s about family. After recently selling his home for $1.1 million to fund a new business venture, the bantamweight star turned part of that windfall into something far more personal: a surprise gift for his mother.

The result was a heartwarming exchange caught on video, one that reminded fans that behind the bright lights, there was a son showing love for the woman who, by his own admission, has been the steady hand behind his chaotic rise. Fans who tuned in expecting business chatter instead witnessed an emotional family moment that cut through the noise of contracts, losses, and career speculation!

Sean O’Malley leaves his mother stunned with $10,000 gift

The video shared on Sean O’Malley’s YouTube channel begins casually, with his mom and the UFC star talking outside as she points out, “And, somebody needs to pick up that cement, what’s that?” ‘Suga’ then quietly hands her an envelope filled with cash as he stated, “It’s $10,000.”  She looked puzzled as she asked, “For the bank?” but her son replied, “No, for you.”

It takes her a second more to confirm that the money was for her as a lady standing in the background smiles and says, “Coz you’re his mom” before Sean O’Malley gives her a hug, and she states in the video,What? Awww, thank you honey. You didn’t have to do that. I thought it was for rent or something to put in the bank.”

The exchange struck a chord with fans. It wasn’t about the money itself, but the bond on display. For a fighter known for brash confidence and showmanship, here was proof of the quieter foundation that supports it all. Yet this wasn’t the first time O’Malley showered his mom with an unexpected gift!

In 2023, he left both her and his wife, Danya, speechless on Mother’s Day by surprising them with $50,000 each. In that video, O’Malley confessed, “These are the two most important women in my life. I literally wouldn’t be here without my Mom, technically. And I can confidently say I probably wouldn’t be in the position I am without Danya [my girlfriend].”But this $10,000 gift wasn’t random. It came from O’Malley’s recent sale of his house, purchased in 2020 for $780,000 and flipped for $1.1 million. Instead of just pocketing the profit, he redirected it into “Doing Well,” a company he co-founded from scratch. Unlike earlier ventures, like his partnership with Jake Paul in the men’s care brand “W,” this project is entirely his own.

“Starting something from the ground up takes a good amount of time to really get it solid and ready to launch,” O’Malley explained. He’s targeting September or October for the first product releases as he further shared, “Very passionate about that. It’s like my own. It’s my baby.”

After two losses to Merab Dvalishvili caused a hit to his stock in the UFC, Sean O’Malley has leaned heavily into business and digital ventures. With endorsements from Reebok, Venum, and Crypto.com, plus a growing YouTube presence, his estimated net worth has climbed to around $4 million, at the time of writing.  Yet, that’s not all as he’s recently also shown interest in a crossover boxing match and the purse he’ll need to switch over to the squared circle!

‘Suga’ takes aim at Gervonta Davis with a “$10 million” payday

On a recent episode of his podcast with longtime coach Tim Welch, O’Malley admitted he’d be tempted by a huge boxing payday if the right opponent came along. ‘Suga’ stated, “I mean, honestly, if there was just a fast a– payday, 100%. I’m thinking like $10 million but then I’m like, if they said five, I’d be like yeah. I don’t know, it’s hard to say. It would be a tough f—— fight. I’d rather fight Gervonta Davis.”

The mention of Davis wasn’t random. O’Malley has called out the knockout artist before, even during his run as UFC bantamweight champion. While he once also teased Devin Haney as a dream crossover opponent, that idea fizzled quickly after Haney mocked him following his loss to Dvalishvili earlier this year. Ryan Garcia’s name has also been floated, but ‘Suga’ made it clear that ‘Tank’ Davis is the man who intrigues him most.

It’s easy to see why. Davis brings star power, knockout ability, and pay-per-view clout that could make a crossover fight genuinely massive. O’Malley, with his flashy style and outspoken personality, could sell it just as well. And with Ilia Topuria also firing off at Terence Crawford recently, the idea of Sean O’Malley trading kicks for gloves doesn’t feel far-fetched.

As such, on one side, there’s the businessman and showman chasing million-dollar ventures and even teasing a leap into boxing for a $5–10 million payday. On the other, there’s the son quietly handing his mom an envelope with $10,000, reminding everyone that gratitude sits at the heart of his journey. Love him or hate him, “Suga” definitely knows how to keep people talking!
