Sean Strickland may be the symbol of free speech in the UFC right now, but can he turn it into an illustrious political career? The former champion lost his middleweight crown days ago and he still put up a brilliant performance. Every single time Strickland is on the screen, he manages to entertain the crowd.

The fighter now has enough influence to collect a lot of votes if he decides that’s his calling in the future. Just like Conor McGregor who recently started rumors of his own bid to become Ireland’s president. Of course, that was a joke, but Strickland was seriously asked if he’d like to join politics.

Sean Strickland says yes to politics

Sharp on the mic and loved by the fans, Sean Strickland has seriously considered whether he’d like to run for office. In a recent turn of events, ‘Tarzan’ sent out an X post claiming that he’d love to run for office one day when he’s done with MMA. “After I’m done fighting in a few years and I’m sitting on a big pile of money I probably will run for some public office position… ill never win but I’d rather do something I care about instead of starting a CBD company lmao” he wrote. And after that, he was recently asked if he would like to run for Congress.

This led to him making an interesting promise to his fans. He noted that he still has some wars in him.

So for a while, he’ll just do the entertaining from the cage itself and not from outside it. But could you imagine the fighter actually running for congress?

Strickland has also imagined a scenario where he sits across Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez arguing about controversial things. An unfiltered fighter in a public office would certainly make an interesting combination for the United States. But when it comes to fighting, does Strickland have the favor of the higher ups?

Dana White saw Strickland winning his last fight

In a recent press conference, Dana White opened up on the fact that he scored the UFC 297 finale in Strickland’s favor. “I had it 2-2 going into the last round and I thought Strickland won the last round,” Dana White told the press. He acknowledged the fact that the judges had things scored it differently, but he’s happy with the outcome either way.

It was still a pretty close fight that could have gone either way. Hence, the split decision win for the challenger, Dricus Du Plessis. Now, he’s the reigning champion of the UFC and has called out Israel Adesanya to settle their old rivalry once and for all. Do you think the fight would happen soon? What did you make of Strickland’s political aspirations? Let us know in the comments section below.
