Sean Strickland is undefeated at middleweight in the UFC or otherwise. Consequently, ‘Tarzan’ is on a big winning streak. Besides, he is eyeing his first opportunity to win the UFC gold. Hence, a win over Alex Pereira in his next bout would be his primary target. However, he understands he might need fans’ attention as well, thus he made an obnoxious remark about Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Important to note that ‘The Eagle‘ was one of the biggest stars in the UFC. Though he has retired, he is still a marquee name in combat sports. Thus, it was intelligent on Strickland’s part to go after Nurmagomedov, as it would turn a lot of heads. Besides, Strickland perhaps was just clearing his head on Twitter and never thought about any fan attention.
Subsequently, the undefeated middleweight, Strickland, tweeted about Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In any case, Strickland has a tough test ahead of him for his next bout, as he will fight Alex Pereira on July 02. Important to note that the champion is fighting on the same date as well.
Though it appears the UFC is trying to set Pereira against Adesanya, Strickland gets to put forward his case at UFC 276.
