“See You Soon Boi” – UFC Legend Responds to Conor McGregor’s ‘Mad’ Comments

Conor McGregor recently came out praising former UFC title contender, Yoel Romero. He took to Twitter, to appreciate the Cuban’s crafty striking skills and said that he would implement it in his own style of fighting.

McGregor tweeted, “The craftiness of Yoel has always been incredible to watch! I am modeling the second half of my career off of this mad Cubano. @YoelRomeroMMA. Excited for the fights this evening.”

Yoel Romero responded to the Irishman’s compliments. He replied to McGregor on Twitter saying, “Thank you so much @TheNotoriousMMA I will be in Dublin next month #seeyousoonboi”

‘The Soldier of God’ is known for his unique and explosive style of fighting. Apart from possessing great power, his wrestling prowess is second to none. However, he does not use it very often as his striking does the job for him.

He is known to patiently wait and blast the opponent with strikes when he sees an opening. This style has helped the wrestler to gain vicious knock-outs over fighters like Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman, and Lyoto Machida.

Romero was released from the UFC after he suffered a loss to Isreal Adesanya at UFC 248. The fight was Romero’s second shot for the undisputed Middleweight gold in his UFC career.

His release, however, came as a shock to many because even in his 40s, he’s still considered a huge draw and a dangerous contender.

Romero is currently signing with Bellator. He lost his debut in the promotion against Phil Davis. It was a split decision loss and rather a controversial one because Romero was under the impression that it was a five-round fight. He made a comeback in his second fight and won a buzzer-beater at Bellator 280 in Paris.

McGregor to Evolve his Striking

Conor McGregor, on the other hand, has shifted his stance from a more karate-like to now more boxing-friendly, wider stance. This although has not proved to be successful, considering his two consecutive defeats by the hands of Dustin Poirier.

McGregor has hinted that he will imply changes to his style and that he will come back as a rejuvenated fighter. His Tweet to Romero has made it very clear that the fighter is evolving his style. Fans showed their appreciation on Twitter and displayed full excitement for the return of the Notorious one.
