UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will defend his title next at UFC 290. The Australian will headline this year’s international fight week opposite interim featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez. This will also be Volkanovski’s first fight since losing to Islam Makhachev in February at UFC 284.

Almost a month away from UFC 290, fans are already excited about the card featuring Volkanovski, Robert Whittaker, Dan Hooker, and Brandon Moreno, among others.

The fan edits for the same have already started coming in. One of them caught Volkanovski’s eye and the 34-year-old showed love for the effort.

Alexander Volkanovski reacts to fan-made UFC 290 trailer

One of the fan-made trailers for UFC 290 on Instagram caught the eye of Alexander Volkanovski. Created on the AI software Midjourney, the trailer was themed on the cult classic film ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.’ The background score for the trailer was Ennio Morricone’s ‘The Ecstasy of Gold.’

The trailer showed the leading stars of UFC 290 such as Volkanovski, Robert Whittaker, Dan Hooker, Brandon Moreno, Alexandre Pantoja, etc in cowboy get-ups.

The video also shows cowboy versions of other UFC 290 stars like Dricus Du Plessis, Jalin Turner, Jack Della Maddalena, and Sean Brady. In the comment section, Volkanovski wrote, “Love it!”

A bird’s eye view of UFC 290

UFC 290 Volkanovski vs. Rodriguez will headline this year’s UFC international fight week. The main event will be a featherweight title unification bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez. In the co-main event, men’s flyweight champion Brandon Moreno will defend his title against Alexandre Pantoja.

Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will face Dricus Du Plessis in a middleweight title eliminator on the main card.  The winner could face Israel Adesanya later this year, at UFC 293 in September.

Another middleweight bout between up-and-comer Bo Nickal and Tresean Gore will open the main card. Lightweight stars Dan Hooker and Jalin Turner will follow it up with a three-round bout.

Other fan-favorite bouts include the welterweight matchups between Jack Della Maddalena and Sean Brady, and former champion Robbie Lawler facing veteran Niko Price.
