Shara Magomedov, the undefeated Russian middleweight, is set to showcase his skills at UFC Fight Night 250 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 1, 2025. Known for his striking prowess, Magomedov has amassed an impressive record of 15 wins and no losses. In 2021, he joined the UFC’s middleweight division, quickly gaining attention for his striking prowess and undefeated record. Notably, he achieved a double-spinning back fist knockout against Armen Petrosyan at UFC 308 on October 26, 2024. He will be up against Michael ‘Venom’ Page and the fight is expected to be a cracker.
This matchup is pivotal for both fighters. For Magomedov, a victory would solidify his position as a rising star in the middleweight division. For Page, it presents an opportunity to prove his adaptability and skill set against a formidable opponent. As the fight approaches, fans and analysts are eager to see how Magomedov’s striking will fare against Page’s unorthodox techniques, making this bout one of the most anticipated in recent UFC history. However, the predictions have already started to flow in and the battle is evenly poised at the moment. But it seems Dillon Danis isn’t quite a fan of the Russian fighter.
A former Bellator fighter and skilled Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner, has gained as much attention for his off-cage antics as his fighting career. Known for his sharp tongue and confrontational personality, Danis has been involved in numerous controversies, particularly with UFC fighters, which have sparked heated debates in the MMA community. Before the fight, he made a prediction that may not be liked by the many out there. He tweeted, “Calling it now Shara Magomedov is getting fraud checked.”

The undefeated Russian fighter has impressed one and all with his performance and has a keen eye for Adesanya next. “Keep my name out of your f*cking mouth,” Israel Adesanya famously said with a laugh after Shara ‘Bullet’ Magomedov called him out. However, it seems that Adesanya is now letting his close friend Michael ‘Venom’ Page take care of things for him. ‘Izzy’ is gearing up for UFC Fight Night 250 on February 1st, and took part in a press conference where he fielded some pretty explosive questions. He also took time to settle his problem with the Russian fighter.
Israel Adesanya makes it clear he had never heard of Shara Magomedov before UFC
Magomedov, the undefeated Russian middleweight, has set his sights on former UFC champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya. After his impressive victory over Armen Petrosyan at UFC 308, Magomedov called out Adesanya, expressing his desire to face the former champion. This exchange highlights the growing tension between the two fighters, with Magomedov eager to prove himself against a seasoned champion like Adesanya. The former middleweight champion has now responded to the call-out in his own fashion. During a recent presser, he shared his honest opinion about the Russian.
On being asked about the call-out by Magomedov ‘The Last Stylebender’ said, “Uh MVP will handle that this weekend but um him saying that I am a more difficult fight. If that’s what he thinks, sure. But he had a cool knockout last time. That was cool, the double-spinning back fist. That was cool but he is still, you know, climbing the ranks. He said that I ducked him back in kickboxing. I never heard of him until I saw him in the UFC. I don’t duck anybody but yeah, cool knockout though.”
The tension between the two was already building, and it would only take a small spark to set it off. Whether or not they will eventually square off in the Octagon remains uncertain, but the possibility is certainly on the horizon. What do you feel about this new rivalry?
