Arman Tsarukyan gives an ultimatum to the top wing of the lightweight division
Arman Tsarukyan has been the talk of the town lately, thanks to his interactions with Bobby Green and his impressive victory against Beneil Dariush. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, when asked about other fighters not wanting to face him, he boldly declared that they have nowhere to run.
Tsarukyan said, “No, they can’t run anymore. So, they’ve got to take this fight and fight with me. Because tomorrow, I’m going to be ranked number three or four. Hopefully, it’s going to be three; I don’t want to be number four. So, top three lightweight, and I think it makes sense to fight with me now.”
Tsarukyan further explained that his situation is similar to Islam Makhachev. He explained that Makhachev was gifted the title fight without fighting anyone from the top 5 and he is waiting for a title call now. “Yeah, it’s the same, you know? Islam had a similar situation. He never beat the top five fighters before when he fought for the title. But hopefully, I already beat number four. So that’s why I’m waiting for the call from my manager and he’ll tell me, ‘Arman, you’re going to fight for the title,” said Tsarukyan.
Down in the conversation, Helwani asked Tsarukyan about his opinion on having a confrontation with Charles Oliviera and Tsarukyan seemed to be unfazed by the question.

Tsarukyan’s opinion about Charles Oliveira
Ariel Helwani asked Tsarukyan whether he was sure that he would be able to bypass Charles Oliviera and be the next in the line for the lightweight title. Tsarukyan had a simple response to Helwani’s question, and that was “Why not?” Helwani then explained that Charles Oliviera is promised by UFC and Co for the fight and he is set to fight Makhachev sooner or later.
Tsarukyan stated, “I don’t know; I haven’t spoken with them. But for me, it doesn’t matter. So, uh, he pulled out from the last fight, and he just beat and lost to Islam. So, it’s like 99% he’s going to lose to Islam. If they want to see that fight, yeah, go ahead. But if they want to see a new generation, new fighter, and like they gotta put me on that fight, and, I’m going to show the world who is the best in our division.”
