Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump‘s eldest daughter, yet again proved that popularity in today’s day and age is often accompanied by a swarm of opinions. When she recently posted her jiu-jitsu training session at Valente Brothers, some of her followers did appreciate her progress but others also resorted to personal remarks.

The former Senior Advisor to President Trump took to X to share a picture of her lifting her coach Gui Valente. He’s one of the three Valente brothers who are the only people outside the Gracie family to be awarded with black belts by Helio Gracie.

Their aim to keep the Gracie tradition is fulfilled through their gym, and having high-profile clients like Ivanka Trump and Gisele Bündchen, Tom Brady’s ex-wife, definitely helps. Another interesting fact to note is that Joaquim Valente who also teaches BJJ at the Valente Brothers gym started dating Bündchen in 2023 and the couple welcomed a baby in February 2025.

Trump’s association with jiu-jitsu shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering she’s repeatedly shown interest in MMA. Back in 2024, she also appeared alongside her father and husband to watch UFC 299 live in Miami. Although their attendance ended up gaining more traction around President Trump allegedly ignoring his grandson and upsetting his daughter, their love for the sport cannot be denied.

The Florida native should not be mistaken for an absolute beginner in jiu-jitsu as well as she’s proudly shared her progress in the past. Based on her posts, she’s a blue belt which generally signifies that the person has been training for two or more years. She’s previously stated that training with her daughter got her invested in BJJ, and from the looks of it, she’s not stopping anytime soon.

Training MMA for fitness and health is surging to become a common trend nowadays and social figures like Trump, Mark Zuckerberg, and Tom Hardy getting into it has certainly helped pushing this narrative. This explains the positive reactions on the aforementioned post such as: “Love this!” , “Wow, bravo to you, world champion! I’m proud of you — you’re amazing!” , and “Wow, you are so strong”.

Leaving aside some undignified comments about her family, most users could be seen calling Trump “Omg god iron lady”,  “Black belt”, “Wow! You go girl!!”, and “Inspiring”. Interestingly, Bündchen’s fellow gym member also follows the 753 code developed by Valente Brothers.

Focusing on the seven virtues of a warrior, five keys to health, and three states of mind, it’s a self-improvement philosophy according to the creators and Trump has admitted to its positive impact on her personal and family life.
