Miesha Tate wants to see two-time PFL lightweight champion Kayla Harrison in the UFC. Tate is preparing to take on Ketlen Vieira at UFC Fight Night 198 this week. This will be her second fight since returning from her retirement. ‘Cupcake’ fought Marion Reneau in her last comeback fight earlier this year and would look to keep her winning ways going.

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion was recently asked about Kayla Harrison. Harrison previously fought in the Professional Fighters League and is now a free agent. She is weighing her options and looking for the fight promotion. When asked about where Harrison should go, Tate said, “If she is a free agent, she belongs in the UFC. I’m not gonna beat around the bush there. She certainly belongs in the UFC. I’d love to see her come over at 145 and see if stir up that division a little bit too.”

“I love Felicia Spencer; I love Norma Dumont. Norma’s amazing. Obviously, Amanda’s there. They’re training partners, so it’s weird. I don’t know how that will play out. But I think she adds a lot of value to that division,” she added.

UFC’s women’s featherweight division sure needs a bit of a shake-up. Ever since Amanda Nunes defeated Cris Cyborg for the title and Cyborg joined Bellator, the division seems to have become stagnant. A new face, that too of the stature of Kayla Harrison, will bring the excitement back.

Kayla Harrison has options

Harrison is one of the biggest names in mixed martial arts right now. She is a former two-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo and made her debut in MMA in 2018, and since then, has been unstoppable. She is undefeated in her career and has an 11-0 record. Harrison is a two-time PFL lightweight champion and is considered by many as one of the best female MMA fighters of all time.

Harrison won her second $1 million PFL women’s lightweight championship last month and is now a free agent. While PFL is trying to resign her, she has options with UFC and Bellator as well. She was recently seen at UFC 268 and Bellator 271, and Cris Cyborg even acknowledged her presence. Cyborg said, “Kayla, thanks for coming to the fights. I really appreciate you’re here. I’m here. If you want to fight me one day, it’s gonna be a great fight.”

It is a fight that will get a lot of MMA fans excited. However, it is something that they will have to wait for. UFC President Dana White doesn’t seem too keen to pursue her, but things might change.

Kayla Harrison is a big name and will be a great addition to any promotions roster. Where would you like to see Kayla fight? Do you think she can become a champion in the UFC? Let us know your thoughts!
