“She Goes Through Chemo With a Smile” – UFC Orlando Star Philip Rowe Tributes Mother Right After Securing “Wildest” KO in the 3rd Round

The UFC’s latest event witnessed a heartwarming moment. Philip Rowe scored a wild TKO finish over Niko Price at UFC Fight Night, Orlando. Despite constant pressure from Price, Rowe survived and came back to find a statement win. The winner also had some surprising words to say about his mother and that left the audience in awe, as people didn’t expect it.

Price started off strong with kicks and punches, but Rowe caught up to him shortly after. “The Fresh Prince” was riding a two-fight win streak while ‘The Hybrid” was 2-2 in his last 5 with one no-contest.

Fans react to Niko Price vs. Philip Rowe at UFC Orlando

Niko Price and Philip Rowe got into it from the first bell at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Holland. Rowe had missed weight coming into the welterweight clash.

The 33-year-old Price put on a powerful show before getting finished in the final round. He had Rowe in trouble with his pressure before emptying his gas tank.

‘The Hybrid’ started off strong and had his opponent in trouble several times. His relentless pressure did not allow his opponent to find gaps to strike back. However, he could not finish Rowe despite almost having him out on his feet.

Rowe sensed his opponent slowing down. The 32-year-old Rowe wasted no time, jumping on a depleted Price to unload and find the finish. The win gave Rowe his third straight knockout in the UFC.

Fellow welterweight Belal Muhammad shared his excitement for the fight, saying:

 

Though he was born in New York, Rowe fights out of Orlando and dedicated the win to the electric crowd. He also shared a touching movement with the crowd when he mentioned his mother, who was undergoing chemotherapy. “She goes through chemo with a smile.”

“This is a dream come true,” Rowe said. “Orlando, this is for you guys. These guys got nothing for me in here. If my mom can do what she does, ain’t nobody stopping me in here.”

Hence, the fighter not only won the fight but also gave the credit to his mother.
