Peña has never fought Nunes, and hence, this would be a great battle. Previously, she fought Valentina Shevchenko, Cat Zingano, Germaine de Randamie, and several outstanding fighters. Thus, ultimately wanting to face the champion is natural.

In an interview, Peña revealed that she felt that people were underestimating her. Speaking about the possibility of Peña defeating Nunes, White said, “I love that about Julianna Peña. She’s a savage. You know, she is an absolute lunatic. She actually got in a fistfight. She got sued.”

“She got in a full-blown fistfight with a bouncer at a bar, okay? … And the bouncer called the police. Let’s put it that way.”

He further said, “Julianna is a fighter and there’s no doubt in my mind that she’s going to come in and go to war with Amanda Nunes. How that turns out, we will see next Saturday.”

Nunes is the current women’s bantamweight champion. It is incredible the way she has cleaned up the division. Hence, it would be a tough fight for Peña.

However, Peña is not to be underestimated. She has defeated Cat Zingano. The very fighter that Nunes lost against in 2014. Thus, Peña might prove to be an extremely difficult opponent to put away.
