UFC Bantamweight champion Julianna Pena is, without doubt, one of the fiercest fighters in the world right now. She snatched the title by defeating former UFC double champion Amanda Nunes and is ready for any challenge now.

Pena has had a verbal rivalry with two-time Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison. Harrison is a former Judoka, and an MMA fighter currently. She recently signed a new contract with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and it didn’t sit right with ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’.
Pena called Harrison out for running her mouth and then running away to the PFL, which she believes is a safe bet. During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the 32-year-old UFC champion discussed Harrison’s new contract with the PFL.
Helwani asked for her opinion, and Pena looked prepared for it. She said, “How easy is it? Talk about WWE wrestling, how easy is it to say I’ll beat Julianna with one arm tied behind my back and then sign a seven-year contract to the PFL right after the next day. It’s like… it’s easy to talk s**t when you know nothing’s gonna happen from it.”
According to Pena, Harrison used her to gain attention, knowing that a matchup between the two wouldn’t happen, anyway. She announced, “So that’s my whole angle. It’s like Kayla’s just running her mouth because she knows nothing’s ever gonna happen of it you know.”
However, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ wished her luck in a sarcastic manner and trolled her for being in a lesser competition. She concluded her answer, “She just signed her life away to PFL, so best of luck with that. I hope it’s… make your career off of beating tomato cans, that’s great.”
Ariel Helwani later corrected her that Harrison has signed a two-year contract, not seven.

Notably, Kayla Harrison is still unbeaten in her professional MMA career, with a flawless 12-0 record. On the other hand, Pena has an impressive 11-4 professional record and is the current UFC women’s bantamweight champion.
Julianna Pena calls Ronda Rousey her dream matchup
Pena shocked the world at UFC 269 against the then-UFC women’s top pound-for-pound and Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. She finished Nunes with a rear-naked choke in the second round and won the decorated belt.
Since then, Pena has never left a chance to make headlines and create hype for her first title defense. However, UFC is yet to book a fight for her so far. Despite that, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ revealed what her ideal matchup would be while attending WrestleMania 38 in Texas.
In an interview with The Schmo, Pena called out ‘Rowdy’ and asked her to come back to MMA. She proclaimed, “Hey, Ronda! Come back to this side, you know, come back to the MMA. Come back to the real world, come back to where you made it all happen and where you got the division started. I want you, Ronda. I want to fight you, come back to the UFC, and fight me.”
Ronda Rousey appeared at WrestleMania 38, where she lost to the SmackDown champion Charlotte Flair. Rousey was the inaugural women’s bantamweight champion and became the face of UFC for a long time. Moreover, ‘Rowdy’ also became the first female inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Rousey became an MMA legend and defended her title six times before losing it to Holly Holm. Later, she joined the sports entertainment company WWE in 2017.

A fight between Julianna Pena and Ronda Rousey can become a high-grossing, high entertainment people’s fight and hugely benefit the division. However, one can only speculate until the two parties along with Dana White come to a consensus about it.
