Julianna Pena is definitely one of the best fighters in the woman’s bantamweight division right now. ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ currently stands fourth in the Bantamweight rankings and twelfth in the woman’s pound for pound category. Julianna Pena will be facing Amanda Nunes on the 11th of December at the highly anticipated UFC 269 event.

Most fight fans consider Amanda Nunes to be the greatest female fighter of all time. Nunes is an absolute beast in the octagon. Her skill is second to none. She is the current UFC featherweight champion as well as the current Bantamweight champion. As of November 2021, Nunes stands first in the woman’s pound for pound category.

Recently, the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Miesha Tate, shared her thoughts on the upcoming fight between Pena and Nunes. ‘Cupcake’ spoke to MMAJunkie ahead of her upcoming fight against Ketlen Vieira at UFC Vegas 43.

Tate said, ” You know, Amanda is a tough one for anybody. I mean, she is the Mount Everest of the division. She’s the one that’s everyone’s like, can I do it. But, I think if anybody can do it in the division right now, it’s Julie. She definitely has the best case. I’ve trained with her. She is so tough, she’s stupid tough. She doesn’t go away, and you know she can put this fight in places that we haven’t really seen Amanda tested in years.”

We’ve seen what she (Nunes) can do to people who try to stand with her. We haven’t as of late seen what she will do when somebody tests her on the ground… She has everything that it takes to put Amanda in an uncomfortable position. “

Does Julianna Pena have what it takes to become champion?

Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes were initially supposed to fight earlier this year, in August, at UFC 265. Unfortunately, Nunes was forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19 days before the fight.

Nunes is now on a twelve-fight winning run as a double champion. She is currently tougher than anyone in the division. Amanda hasn’t been defeated in a fight since 2015. She has the exceptional ability to demolish her opponents with her enormous power in the first few rounds of a battle.

Julianna Pena, on the other hand, has a tremendous chin and outstanding technique. Although, in order for her to win, Pena has to take Nunes down and try to tire her out from the start. Pena is one of the best fighters on the ground, and we’ve seen her submit many fighters with ease in the past.
