‘Vivi’ and the Mexican fighter stood toe-to-toe in the pocket in the early stage of the first round and exchanged jabs. Realizing it was a five-round contest, both were patient in the first round, yet whatever either was throwing kept landing.

The Brazilian fighter’s prior losses (2) in the UFC came only to the hands of a former flyweight title challenger. Besides, she was coming off a big win against Andrea Lee. Thus, with #6 next to her name, she entered the contest with utter confidence.

Whereas her counterpart was on a three-fight win streak coming into the contest with wins over the likes of veteran fighter Joanne Wood and prospect Maycee Barber. This led to one of the best runs of Grasso’s career in the UFC and a #5 ranking.

Despite the win, fans are not seeing Grasso as worthy to challenge the reigning champion, Valentina Shevchenko.
