Jiri Prochazka hasn’t had the best time after returning from a terrible shoulder injury last November. He failed to regain his light heavyweight title twice, falling to current king Alex Pereira, two times via knockouts. However, he clearly looks at himself as the man to beat ‘Poatan’ and win back the title opportunity at 205 pounds, as ‘The Czech Samurai’ shared a few words to shut two of his light heavyweight rivals up.

UFC 311 will have two former champions clashing with each other, which is not the only thing that appears to be common between Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill. The 205-pound duo also share losses against Alex Pereira via knockout. Meanwhile, ‘Sweet Dreams’ shared a negative review about the Czech star’s first encounter with Pereira, which seems to have come back to haunt him because Prochazka doesn’t believe the 33-year-old has made a bigger impact in the UFC than him.

“I am really looking forward to my next fight and Jamahal, don’t speak about my performances, fight IQ, and all these things because, in your last fight, you didn’t show nothing, really,” Jiri Prochaza stated on social media. But Jamahal Hill wasn’t the only one who was getting the stick, because the Czech star also made his stance clear about Magomed Ankalaev.

The Russian light heavyweight has been calling for a title shot for months now, trading jibes with Alex Pereira on X. However, Jiri Prochazka claims that Magomed Ankalaev should get in line just like Jamahal Hill. “[It’s the same with] Ankalaev, in your last three fights you showed totally nothing. So stay on the ground,” Prochazka added. Jiri Prochazka seems to have downplayed the threat Jamahal Hill poses, but the greatest of all time doesn’t share the same opinion as the Czech fighter. Yes, the undisputed heavyweight champion Jon Jones believes UFC 311 is for ‘Sweet Dreams’ to walk out victorious.

Jon Jones backs Jamahal Hill to beat Jiri Prochazka

Jiri Prochazka is one of the few UFC fighters ever who’ve garnered attention for his unconventional fighting and training methods. This must make him unpredictable for his opponents, as most would think. However, Jon Jones envisions Jamahal Hill’s technical prowess – which ‘Bones’ is all about – which will ensure ‘Sweet Dreams’ wins the bout over the Czech samurai.

“I think Jamahal Hill will win. Jiri has really unorthodox striking, but Jamahal seems like the more technical, more clean striker and I’m a big fan of basic techniques. And Jamahal has a really strong, basic, clean kickboxing style,” Jon Jones told ‘Schmo’. The heavyweight champion seems to love Jamahal Hill’s technical abilities so much that he even wants to get inside the Octagon to have a scrap against him.

With the heavyweight champion’s backing, will Jamahal Hill beat another former champion? Well, that remains to be seen. While the talks been around him and Jiri Prochazka, Magomed Ankalaev, seems to have entered the fray as well. The Russian contender has remained unbeaten since his last 13 fights, making his thoughts known that he deserves a title shot as well. What are your thoughts on the light heavyweight title scenario?
