UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier took to social media and revealed to fans that he would be fighting for the undisputed title next. ‘The Diamond’ expressed that his targeted bout against Charles Oliveira was signed and per reports, the fight will go down in December. Fans have been looking forward to this contest that will determine the current lightweight kingpin.

Poirier recently appeared in an interview with Valuetainment’s Patrick Bet-David and revealed that Oliveira was next. During the interview, he also specified that the contract was yet to be signed even though things were moving in the right direction. However, per his recent tweet, it seems as though all formalities regarding the fight booking have been worked out.

There’s been a longstanding precedent for greatness set in the lightweight division by former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Following his retirement, fans wondered how one of the most popular divisions in the UFC would shape up in the long run. However, just about a year from his retirement on October 24, 2020, it seems like the division has truly moved forward.
