Conor McGregor has been out of the octagon, but not out of the news. From his tweets to his brief public appearances, ‘The Notorious’ seems to carry the spotlight with him at all times. However, a lot of these appearances lately have been a cause of controversies, causing the UFC president to comment on his most prized asset’s recent behavior. Most of the time, McGregor, during his public appearances, is seen with a beverage like his signature Proper 12 whiskey, which has left fans concerned about his health and fitness for his return to the octagon. And since he is set to face Michael Chandler towards the end of the year, but many fans believe the Irishman isn’t actually fit to do so.
With a marquee matchup rumored to be in jeopardy, UFC President Dana White offered an update on McGregor’s health.

Dana White provides reasoning for the delay in McGregor’s next bout
Dana White recently appeared in a brief interview with Robbie Fox on the YouTuber’s signature Spinnin Backfist talk show. Toward the end of the interview, the UFC boss gave his reactions about how ‘The Notorious’s opponent Michael Chandler feels the fight is getting pushed further. White did not give any hint about the expected date of the fight, but he did say that the officials were finalizing the fight as soon as they can.
“The show’s got to air. We’re gonna find. I actually saw a picture of Conor today where he actually looked leaner. he’s starting to cut the weight down and we’ll see. This guy is going through a ton of sh*t with his body after breaking his shin bone and believe me, as soon as we can get it done, we’ll get it done.”
With inside information on McGregor’s well-being, it seems the UFC President is being cautious with the return of his biggest star and wants ‘Mac’ to heal from his career-threatening injury at his own pace. Allaying rumors of the fight being canceled, White on the contrary, feels McGregor is on his way to making weight and an announcement of the fight date will be made as soon as possible.

However, White seems to be completely okay with it. When asked about this in the interview, he said, “I think that Conor went out, was having fun, and got caught up in the moment. The dude called him into the ring and he did it. I also saw him pounding a bottle of Proper 12. I’m sure that probably had something to do with it, too. But you know listen, man, at the end of the day, Conor has done a lot here. He’s made a lot of money, the guy’s out having fun and you know it’s all good.”
