Colby Covington and Donald Trump are one pair whose admiration for one another has not gone unnoticed to any fight fan! Covington went to Trump wearing a special jacket ahead of his last fight just to get the former president’s autograph on it for himself.

Trump has visited the UFC many times to watch live matches. He was also present at UFC 299 when Sean O’Malley went up against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera for the bantamweight title. However, perhaps the more memorable matchup was UFC 296.

In a video that surfaced recently, fans could see Colby Covington standing by the side as Donald Trump addressed the audience. It is not yet clear what the event was about but Trump rained some praise on Covington while also seemingly taking a jab at him.

In a video, the former president can be heard talking about a potential bar fight: “I love Colby but I’m gonna have to bet against him. . . If I saw him in a bar, let’s say, I’m not a big bar guy but okay, let’s say he was a little in my way, I could see myself say ‘move over’. But I’d be in big trouble.”

Colby Covington and the rest of the audience shared a laugh at the funny little moment but not all the fans online had a similar reaction to things. Especially after Trump walked away from Covington’s last fight after ‘Chaos’ lost it all to Leon Edwards.

With a lot of respect, Colby Covington had invited Donald Trump to his UFC 296 bout. However, Covington lost that main event fight via a unanimous decision and Trump walked away from him before he could even finish his speech. Now although the video shows them in an amicable place but the fans are not very convinced.

Clearly, UFC fans stand divided as ever on this video as they are on any other. Colby Covington is currently considering a matchup with welterweight rising star, Ian Garry, after making numerous personal jabs about the fighter’s wife Layla Machado and her unconventional family.
