There was a video from Bellator MMA that went viral recently where wrestlers were choking each other. The majority of the MMA fans seemed completely ignorant of such a choke. Later, the fans got to know that the choke was called “Luca-Nator”.

Ariel Helwani, Sandhu MMA, and others shared their reaction to the video

The noted FOX and ESPN journalist, Ariel Helwani himself, was in utter awe of the choke. He captioned the video Holy smokes this is wild“. Helwani’s words certainly implied that he was amazed at seeing something like this.

A lot of other followers stood on the same ground as Ariel Helwani, as they were also completely blown out by such a choke. SandhuMMA tweeted, “Just when you think you’ve seen it all“.

Other fans went inquisitive about this not-so-seen choke and asked, “WHAT EVEN IS THIS SUBMISSION???”

While some others were concerned about the condition of the fighter and felt that the referee should have stopped the fight a few seconds earlier.

One user Tweeted, He was out for about 12 seconds before they let it go. Hope he is ok!”

The name of this strange choke was given by the Twitter page of MMA Junkie, they tweeted Luca Poclit turned in the first-ever “Luca-nator” submission finish at #Bellator285″

The fans got to know that the fighter applying the choke was Luca Poclit and his opponent was Dante Shiro they were facing off at the Bellator 285 event.

All sports fans realize that the game develops with time. While most people are aware of chokes like Guillotine, Kimura, Triangle, and Armbars, it can never be said that this sport will be limited only to these.
