Last week, Israel and Palestine finally moved towards a ceasefire agreement after 15 months of relentless battle and mass destruction. The agreement stated that both parties would release their hostages and there would be no further strikes from either side. This peace deal was a much-needed push for an optimistic year as Donald Trump assumed office. Ahead of the peace deal, Conor McGregor took to his X handle to make a final statement on the war: “Peace in the world, please, God!” However, despite the plea for peace, fans are grilling the former UFC champ for taking a picture with Ben Shapiro.

Conor McGregor was invited to Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony along with many individuals such as Joe Rogan and Dana White. After sharing a moment of camaraderie with the Paul brothers, ‘Mystic Mac’ crossed his path against the critical conservative political commentator, Ben Shapiro. The duo clicked some pictures together with some murals of Donald Trump and his wife.

Ben Shapiro took to his Instagram handle to upload these photos with the captions, “Thank you TPUSA for an amazing night. Today we Make America Great Again.” That’s not all. The former dual-weight champion of the world also rubbed his shoulders against a controversial figure United Kingdom Nigel Farage.

Conor McGregor gets a critical assessment from fans for Ben Shapiro pic

The first thing that a fan commented, reacting to Ben Shapiro’s photo was on the former dual weight champion’s appearance, “McGregor looks like bloated sh-t.”  The past few years have been a mixed bag of events for Conor McGregor where he’s continued to make waves despite not fighting and his high-profile SA case. Drawing from his role as a promoter of BKFC, McGregor also hinted at venturing into politics.

Back in 2023, when the Dublin riots happened followed by the immigrant knife attack, ‘Mystic Mac’ was at the forefront, calling out the Irish government for their relatively relaxed migrant rules. He emphasized that if these incidents continued, he would have to enter politics. Commenting on this, a fan wrote, “Is this Connor’s attempt to weasel his way into politics? We know he tried to run in Ireland already.”

A social media user was flabbergasted by the photo, given their contrasting personalities, “I never thought i would see ben take a picture with conor.” Another fan had a rather interesting question for Shaphiro,“Does Ben support Connors Judeo-Christian lifestyle.” Furthermore, criticism of McGregor’s appearance continued, “God he looks so terrible.” Last but not least, another social media user emphasized that the photo has nothing but two shallow men,  “Just two scum, nothing else to see.” It must be noted that Ben Shapiro is a core Israel supporter.

Well, the constant criticism might be getting out of hand recently but Conor McGregor might have to endure it for some time. The ever-growing criticism continues for the Irishman, as the fighting community has lately been uber critical of him, especially with his inactivity and the high-profile civil court case that found him liable for SA. Regardless, what’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
