

The UFC has undergone a change in the roster. It’s just 10 days into February, and the premium mixed martial arts promotion has already released some major names.

Twitter account, UFC Roster Watch, which tracks the roster releases from the UFC, noted the release of a number of fighters from the rankings. There were a total of 11 fighters removed. This didn’t come as a surprise, as most of them were in bad form. However, the list included some high-profile names in it. Some of the athletes on the list are Sean Soriano, Jordan Williams, and Andre Ewell.

One name that struck was Hu Yaozong. Even though he had a bad record, he hails from China. It is one of the biggest markets for the MMA promotion.

It is not the first time the promotion has released fighters this year. Just last month, they released four fighters, including Maki Pitolo.

List of the fighters released by the UFC
Some big names were amongst the ones released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Below is the list of the fighters.

Jordan Williams
He is one of the biggest names released by the company. The Dana White’s Contender Series graduate was on a three-fight losing streak. His last fight was against one of the biggest prospects, Ian Garry, which he lost via knockout.

This release brought to an end the fighter’s second run with the promotion. He went 0-3 in his first stint and, after resigning, he went on a 0-2 run.
Andre Ewell
Andre Ewell was a hot prospect when he signed with the UFC. He had a win over one of the most dominant champions in the UFC, Renan Barao. However, his 2021 was dismal, and he lost all three of his fights.

Hu Yaozong
The Chinese fighter lost all his three UFC fights in the UFC and was released by the company.
