Dustin Poirier is set to take on Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 in a UFC lightweight title fight.

“Do Bronx” won the vacant lightweight belt at UFC 262 against former Bellator champion, Michael Chandler. The fight between the two men started explosively, as Chandler landed some heavy shots and had Oliveira in trouble. However, the Brazilian fighter fought through the initial adversity and came back to win via TKO in the second round.

Poirier is coming off two back-to-back wins over Conor McGregor. He is the number 1 ranked lightweight in the UFC and is the rightful number one contender. Fight fans are excited about this fight, as it is guaranteed to produce fireworks. Both men always come out hard and try to look for a finish. The challenger believes that the fight will not go to a decision.

While talking about the fight, Poirier said, “I think somebody is going to get finished. I think it’s going to be pretty violent, no way this goes 25 minutes. Two guys who don’t play the point game, go out there and try to finish each other. And two of the best guys in the world, obviously. And the guys with the most experience. This is a very, very high-level fight.”
