‘Meatball’ Molly McCann returns to action at UFC 281 and she’s as hyped as ever. The dynamic flyweight will put her unbeaten streak in the UFC on the line against Erin Blanchfield this Saturday at MSG. However, McCann may not have one significant advantage at MSG that she had in her last two fights.

Blanchfield is riding a six-fight win streak. Many fans expect this fight to be a genuine challenge for McCann, who found stunning finishes in her last two fights. Despite her resume, her energy at the weigh-ins did not rub off well on certain fans.

Molly McCann was full of energy when she took the stage at the ceremonial weigh-ins. She seemed incredibly hyped and tried to hype up the fans as well. However, not all fans took positively to McCann’s antics on stage.

One fan wrote, “forgot she was fighting since paddy isn’t on the card 😭😭.” Another fan labeled her, “CEO of cringe.”

“She will get humble pie very soon 🌚,” predicted another fan. Another disapproving fan wrote, “I dislike this chick so much for some reason 😂 I hope she gets Ko’d.”

McCann did not generate the pop that she received in her hometown. Along those lines, one fan wrote, “Someone remind her this ain’t the UK. No one likes her here lol.” Similarly, another said, “She’s literally the only one hyped.”

More fans mentioned how her popularity was associated with Paddy Pimblett. One said, “Love Paddy but hope she gets flatlined.” Another wrote, “Without paddy, no one cares . She’s to obnoxious.”

Another fan commented, “Legit most annoying fighter in the UFC.”

McCann definitely received some spite in the comments section. With her recent run and her personality, it’s not surprising that she earned fans and haters alike. Fortunately, McCann already had some good advice on dealing with success.

Conor McGregor’s advice to Molly McCann

Molly McCann has recently found some popularity thanks to her stunning finishes on the two UFC London cards this year. Her antics with her countryman, Paddy Pimblett, have also earned her some fans in the sport. While speaking to the media ahead of UFC 281, ‘Meatball’ revealed that she got some advice from MMA’s most popular figure, Conor McGregor, about dealing with popularity.

McCann told the media that she reached out to the Irishman, seeking advice on how to handle fame. McGregor was more than happy to oblige and share a few experienced words with the 32-year-old.

“When you get in the gym, it’s just the gym. Don’t let no one else in. Keep everyone outside. Always remember, it’s just fighting. You’re a cage warrior. That’s what we are, we’re Cage Warriors champions,” McCann quoted McGregor.

McCann will look to extend her winning streak in the UFC to 4-0 with a win this Saturday. If she delivers another stunning finish, she could start building her case for a shot at Valentina Shevchenko‘s title soon.
