UFC 300 was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. With this success in mind, the expectations for UFC 306, at the Las Vegas Sphere, keep growing exponentially. But that’s not all. Joe Rogan recently made a revelation regarding the event in September that has the potential to leave people gaping.

After announcing the new venue for the mixed martial arts event, Dana White had to tackle a setback. UFC 306 might not become the first-ever combat sports event to be hosted at The Sphere. Nevertheless, with the amount of money White has already spent on the event, it is going to be phenomenal. And needless to say, the tickets’s price would skyrocket.

During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the guest, comedian Akaash Singh, made a comment about Max Holloway’s latest victory over Justin Gaethje. The KO in the very last second of the fight earned Holloway boatloads of praise, and the fans found newly bloomed trust in White’s judgments.

Soon, the talks turned to UFC 306, and Rogan revealed, “Dana told me they’ve already spent $9 million preparing for September’s event.” The date coinciding with the Mexican Independence Day simply turns up the hype.

Singh pointed out that the tickets to the event would be way too expensive. Rogan, catching the reason behind the statement, agreed. He confirmed, “It’s going to be nuts. It’s gonna be a nutty event.”

Nevertheless, rumors of the return of the current BMF, Max Holloway, have ensured that the event would be nothing like the MMA community has ever seen. With the UFC Featherweight title on the line, excitement has gone several notches higher.

The new owner of the BMF belt has set his eyes on the featherweight title. After defeating Gaethje, Holloway mentioned Ilia Topuria, as his next target. In an episode of ‘The MMA Hour’, Topuria stated, “Yeah, maybe I think they want me to fight in the sphere and September.”

However, ‘El Matador’ doesn’t want to fight Holloway without his BMF belt. So who is it going to be, if not Holloway? The featherweight champ pointed towards Alexander Volkanovski. “Without the BMF belt, I don’t want to fight Max at all. If not, I’m gonna fight with Volk who deserves more than him, the rematch. He’s been saying ‘Right now I have a lot of options’, he doesn’t have any options. I’m the champion right now, I choose the date, I choose the place. Whenever I want him, he has to be ready.”

With a rematch between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor being lined up for June, at the Sphere, White is set to face a blow at making UFC 306 the first combat sports event at the new venue. Despite this, the expectations for the event are quite high. Undeniably, the list of fighters who wish to fight at UFC 306 is pretty long. But watching Holloway fight for the belt against Topuria would be a dream come true. And the only setback would be the fans’ significantly lighter wallets.
