Joe Rogan has nothing to do with Spotify’s new content policy. The famed podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, exclusive to Spotify, thanks to a $200 million deal in 2020, will have no special effects from the audio/video streaming platform’s recent changes.

The longtime UFC announcer has built a remarkable brand for himself that changed the course of podcasts. The revolutionary podcast found immense success on YouTube when it started. And over a decade after, it is still going strong on Spotify.

The platform gained exclusive rights for the podcast after a lucrative five-year deal between Rogan and the company, which will be up for renewal in 2023.

The beloved show faced some troubles in the first half of 2022 after some of its episodes featured controversial content. This meant that Rogan was in the headlines for the better part of the first quarter of 2022. However, Rogan and Spotify worked together to resolve all the noise coming their way.

Now, it seems like the streaming giants are strengthening their outlook by creating an 18-member advisory council to tact against controversial content.

The council contains a group of experts that will guide the platform regarding cases submitted for review. Although, the last call will come from the company itself.

A Spotify representative offered the idea is about handling controversial content across the company, and it’s not about ‘any particular creator or situation’.

The company has already introduced advisory guidelines for Rogan’s JRE episodes. Besides, they have removed multiple questionable episodes from their platform. However, this council is not designed specifically to oversee Rogan’s JRE podcast.

The renowned UFC commentator only calls American PPV events. Besides, Dana White, in the post-fight press conference for UFC Austin, revealed the last time the former Fear Factor host attended a live UFC event without calling the fights was 2 decades ago. Thus, it was a surreal moment for the UFC fanatics.

When the promotion showed the standup comic on the big screen, the crowd cheered up Rogan with a huge pop.

Rogan’s appearances for the UFC events are very limited. That said, with a spectacle like UFC Austin, he would’ve surely enjoyed the card from top to bottom.
