Recently, Julianna Pena defeated the ‘Lioness’ Amanda Nunes at UFC 269. After the event at the post-fight presser, UFC President Dana White taunted sports analyst Darren Rovell, who had suspected Nunes’ marketability a few years back,

While speaking about the championship fight, White fired shots at Rovell, implying that if Nunes had won the fight, then it would have set up the frameworks of a multi-million dollars bout with Kayla Harrison.

He said, “For like a Kayla Harrison, the Amanda Nunes fight was huge. I mean, if they would’ve faced off, it would’ve been a massive, you know, mega million-dollar fight. I know the dips**t there. What’s his name? The dips**t that thinks he knows about this business; Rovell, Darren Rovell, yeah.”

“Dips**t Darren Rovell said that Amanda Nunes, we were scre**d, she could never be a star, and all these other things. Let me tell you what – If Amanda Nunes had won tonight, the Kayla Harrison fight would be one of the biggest fights that you would’ve ever seen. You know, stay out of our business, dips**t. You know nothing.”

The president’s words didn’t sit well with Rovell. Later, he took to Twitter to retaliate against Dana White’s comment on him. Rovell later tweeted that he will debate with Dana White and crush him with facts and data.

At UFC 269, Amanda Nunes lost to Pena as she submitted to ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ in the second round of the match. Things were going well for ‘The Lioness’ in the opening round as she dominated the round through her kicks and jabs.

But Pena changed the fate of the bout in the second round as she matched Nunes punch to punch and later put a visibly exhausted Nunes in a Rear-Naked choke to claim the win.

Dana White and Darren Rovell fell out in 2018

Notably, this is not the first time that the UFC boss, Dana White, has gone after Darren Rovell. They had a feud back in 2018 when Rovell questioned Amanda Nunes’ marketability. It was when she defeated Cris Cyborg in just 51 seconds to become the first female double champion in the UFC.

Moreover, Rovell implied Nunes isn’t fit to replace the fighters(Rousey and Cyborg) that she just defeated. He stated in his tweet that the UFC couldn’t market her the same way they marketed Cyborg and Rousey.

Meanwhile. Dana White couldn’t take negative reviews of his fighters and replied to Rovell’s antics in the post-fight press conference of UFC 232.

He said, “I guess saying stupid things sometimes makes you stand out. What’s his name tonight? That idiot I can’t stand? Darren Rovell tweets out – what the f**k does Darren Rovell know about fighting, number one. Let’s start with that. And he says the UFC got destroyed tonight because Cris Cyborg lost and Amanda Nunes won and she’s not marketable at all.”

Furthermore, he taunted Rovell, ”F**king pshhhhh,” he continued. “Listen, I’m pretty resilient to this dumb s**t but holy God.”
