The winner of UFC 10 and 11 Tournaments, Mark Coleman, is one of the most respected names in the MMA scene. He also competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics and is one of the very first UFC champions. Coleman has recently had hip surgery and has been quite active on social media. However, a recent post of his talking about overcoming his addiction is what truly shocked the fans.

The former UFC champion recently posted a picture on Instagram opening up about his recovery from his addiction to alcohol and drugs. He wrote about it in detail in the caption of the post. Here’s what it said.

Mark Coleman shares details about overcoming his addiction

‘The Hammer’ opened up about his struggles, saying, “I am a former alcoholic and drug addict 2 1/2 yrs ago I quit but for two years Something was missing.” He then added, “I hadn’t exercised in 12 years staying away from drugs, and alcohol was very very difficult and then I started walking, and I never stopped people keep telling me I need to slow down and sit on the couch.”

Coleman claimed to have used intense training as a way of dealing with his addiction. He stated, “I’ve traded my addiction for drugs and alcohol for exercise. I thought maybe I overdid it yesterday the pain is real but real good. I didn’t sleep I couldn’t sleep I haven’t slept and I don’t think I overdid it.”

Coleman concluded the Instagram Post by saying, “Yes I do take risk is so far all is good and all keeps getting better and stronger solver is core carnivore diet nine ancestral tenants”

Though the post worried people at first, people are now relieved to see that the Former UFC champion seems to be doing better. Coleman seems to be active and fit, despite his surgery and age.

‘The Hammer’ on Power Slap League

Mark Coleman seems to have shown interest in a new venture of Dana White called the Power Slap League. The 58-year-old seemed to want to join the league as a catcher. However, given a year to train, Coleman said that he could compete. Coleman had called out former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia, for a contest. However, Sylvia wanted no part in competing against Coleman.

The 58-year-old is no stranger when it comes to taking a hit and giving it back. He looks fit for someone his age. However, how would he fare up against people who are younger with less mileage on the body?
