Stephen Thompson is one of the most renowned names in the UFC. The 57-0 record-holding kickboxer is also one of the most feared strikers of the entire promotion. ‘Wonderboy’ currently boasts the spot of #6 in the UFC Welterweight rankings. He earned a stupendous victory over the noted Welterweight, Kevin Holland, in the recent UFC Fight Night at Orlando on 4 December 2022. Thompson is also known for his affinity towards social media and often puts out multiple updates in a day. Recently, he got into a Twitter altercation with Conor McGregor‘s former teammate and Jiu-Jitsu instructor, Dillon Danis.

Of late, YouTube interviewer, ‘Fred Beck’ whose channel is named, ‘Fred Talks Fighting’ interviewed ‘Wonderboy’. The two also discussed the infamous scuffle between Danis and the noted rapper and YouTuber, KSI, which saw Danis getting punched by one of KSI‘s mates. Danis probably had also gone through Thompson‘s interview and called him out.

The selective hate of Steven Thompson irritated Dillon Danis

‘Wonderboy’ is reputed to be a humble person in the fighting world. Most of the time, he has treated his opponents with respect before, after, and even outside the fight. Danis was annoyed at the words used by Thompson for him in the ‘Fred Talks Fighting’ interview.

He vented out his annoyance with a tweet that read, “funny how you talk nice about everyone but me @WonderboyMMA if you want i live in NY let’s spar and put it on instagram live”.

Previously, in his interview with Fred Beck, ‘Wonderboy’ made a mockery of Danis‘ reaction after he got punched by one of KSI‘s friends named Anthony Taylor. He was also a former Bellator MMA fighter.

Instead, he appeared stunned and was probably thinking, “Oh. Did that just happen?” as stated by ‘Wonderboy’.

The whole feud cropped when Danis confronted KSI in a pre-fight event of the promotion ‘Misfits Boxing’. Danis ended up smacking KSI with the coffee he had in his hand. A few friends of KSI then followed him out of the arena, including Anthony Taylor. Taylor then punched Danis outside the arena.

Stephen Thompson provided a 3-word betting reply to Dillon Danis

Taylor had landed a clean right on Danis‘ chin following the coffee-throw incident between him and KSI. ‘Wonderboy’ said in the interview that Danis’ natural reaction should’ve been a punch in return for a punch since he was a fighter as well. The incident gained massive publicity. Thompson also provided an apt reply to Danis’ tweet.

Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
