Khamzat Chimaev’s close ties with the Chechen supremo Ramzan Kadyrov are well known. Chimaev has been very open about it. He has also been training Kadyrov‘s son with Ali Kadyrov. Chimaev has coached him and considers him to be his younger brother. While the welterweight fighter often gets criticism from fans over his ties with Kadyrov, it hasn’t perturbed Chimaev much. In a recent video that’s doing rounds on social media, Khamzat Chimaev can be seen sparring with Ramzan Kadyrov in a gym. The video has gathered reactions from fans and most of them weren’t too kind.

A user shared the video on Twitter and the video has got more than 50K views in just a few hours. The video was captioned, “Still one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen.” The video shows Chimaev and Kadyrov involved in light-hearted boxing and Chimaev can be seen trying to inflict a takedown on Kadyrov. Fans didn’t believe that the spar was real and deemed it to be a propaganda video.

Fans criticize Khamzat Chimaev for Kadyrov ties

The video posted on Twitter attracted a lot of comments. A fan said, “Well, if you knew who Kadyrov is & what he does to people he dislikes, you’d also let him do whatever he wanted to, or you would disappear.”

Another fan had similar views. He commented, “Khamzat knows where his bread is buttered.”

Another fan commented, “I used to think Kadyrov was intimidating or looked like a rough man. But the dude doesn’t have an athletic bone in his body. Tbf he is older. But the guy looks like he’s never done any sport in his life. His workout vids are equally as pathetic.”

Fans also acknowledged that Kadyrov was a dangerous man and Chimaev didn’t have much say in what he did.

The user wrote, “you really think khamzat is going to “smesh” the crazed dictator of the country his family lives in?”

Another fan was of the opinion that gym videos shouldn’t have been uploaded. The fan commented, “Many pounds heavier, boxing gloves, and not a real fight. Don’t post gym footage that’s a p*ssy move. Khamzat would kill this guy in the cage.”

The cruel doctor is an avid fan of the combat sport. Not too long ago, he invited several UFC big names to Russia for his son’s birthday party.

Khamzat Chimaev’s Unbeaten run

Khamzat Chimaev is on a 12-fight undefeated run. His last victory came against Kevin Holland at UFC 279 in September. Fans will want the #3 welterweight to win a few more and push toward the title shot. Chimaev fans have been disappointed with him for being inactive. Chimaev has fought only three times in the past two years. He has spent time training Kadyrov’s son and his fans haven’t liked it. They will hope to see more of Chimaev in 2023.
