Michael Chandler will perhaps never be pleased with anything that has to do with Conor McGregor. Or anyone, for the sake of it. In a recent turn of events, Garett Armfield secured a brilliant decision victory over his opponent, Brad Katona. Katona was teammates with Conor McGregor at TUF 31.

Katona has also trained with McGregor in the past and the two have been professionally close. All of that, after a bitter story that followed the 31st season the the UFC’s favorite reality show. Here’s more about what Chandler just said and why he just may be a bit bitter still.

Michael Chandler was betrayed by Brad Katona

In the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, both, McGregor and Michael Chandler were coaches opposite to one another. Katona, originally on Chandler’s team switched to ‘The Notorious’ during the semi-finals of the season. This was because Katona had already trained with McGregor at SBG Ireland.

If he moved, it would allow him to be reunited with the coaches and fighters he already knew. Of course, Chandler did not take very kindly to the move and it looks like he still despises Katona for it today. After his decision loss against Armfield, Chandler was quick to take to his X account.

During the fight, Chandler updated the fans about the ongoing match declaring Armfield’s huge favor in terms of striking. “2-0 @Armfield135 – out striking him and controlling the pace.” Once the fight was over, he couldn’t be happier about it.

He was quick to celebrate Armfield’s win over Katona. Clearly, there are still ill feelings between him and Katona. Now, rumors of a fight announcement between the two during UFC 297 are in the air.

“No, but he can’t run much longer.” He responded to a fan asking if an announcement was going to happen. ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler can’t wait to fight the Irishman and is already in camp. As stated by McGregor, the two might fight at an interesting weight class at 185 pounds.

But who will come out on top? That remains to be seen. In fact, even a real contract between the two remains to be seen. What are your predictions? Will the fight even materialize?
