Tom Aspinall has made waves in his career, but what if he wants to be more than just high tide? The heavyweight just doesn’t quit putting out challenges for some of the best fighters in the division. First, he went after Jon Jones asking him to vacate the title and now, he wants Jones’ opponent-to-be.

That’s right, Aspinall’s next target is none other than Stipe Miocic. Miocic was meant to fight Jones at UFC 295, but the whole fight fell through when Jones suffered a grave injury. He is now going to remain away from the Octagon for a while so what happens next? Here’s how Aspinall and Miocic went about their next moves.

Tom Aspinall challenges Miocic to a fight

Tom Aspinall wants a big fight one way or another. The heavyweight seemed rather frustrated when the title fight between the two giants fell through. Ever since then, his challenges have been ripe and ready. Aspinall has been the interim champ of the division since his lightning-fast knock-out win over Sergei Pavlovich.

So, it only makes sense for him to be upset that when Jones returns, it will be Miocic who gets a shot at the title first instead. He took to X to voice his views and Miocic came up with a promise of his own for the English fighter.

“I have never caused a delay in the Jon fight. Tom, once I win, let’s talk to unify this belt.” Miocic told Aspinall. The interim champ would soon go to his own X profile to issue yet another challenge. “Why wait? Ready when you are boss”.

To many, it would seem that Aspinall is being rather impatient with the whole story around Jones and Miocic. He has just won a fight against Pavlovich and that alone should mean he’d take some time off from fighting. However, he’s ready to go. Here’s how fans reacted to it.

Yet another fan brought up an important point.

Another fan accused Aspinall of going in a different direction than earlier.

Some felt like this would be the perfect fight.

Clearly, fans have their opinions divided. Some admire Aspinall trying to push the division into more activity while others just don’t think Miocic would win the fight against Jon to ever unify the belt with Aspinall. Meanwhile, ‘Bones’, the real champion recovers and rests for perhaps one last fight he has left within him. There are high chances he retires after that last fight. Do you think Aspinall would get his shot then?
