Fans react to a DQ shot being thrown in a UFC Fight Pass event

The UFC Fight Pass account shared a post comprising clips from two different fights. The first video saw Carlos Prates knocking out Eduardo Ramon in round 1 at the Legacy Fighting Alliance in Brazil. However, it was the second video that drew largely alarmed reactions from the fans.

The second video featured an important fight between Lucas Fernando and Jansey Silva. Fernando knocked Silva out with a vicious knockout to bring the contest to an emphatic finish, but he didn’t stop striking his opponent even after the stoppage. These unanswered shots to the downed opponent enraged the MMA community. One fan said, “Bad sportsmanship by Fernandes”. Another one stated, “F*ck that last follow up punch in the second video tho”

Another Instagram user wrote, “Fernandes should be fined or DQ’d for that lame as* s**t. Ref has intervened and he’s still punching out an unconscious opponent.”

Two other fans broached the themes of sportsmanship and probable hostility between the combatants. “None of the punches hit the opponent when he fell. Hostile weather between fighters causes this kind of reaction. Blood frenzy.” Similarly, a fan added, “Second clip should be a DQ he kept banging him after ref stopped him. No sportsmanship here.”

An angered social media user commented, “WEAK mother fk* for that follow up. P*zzy a**.” Likewise, a fan stated, “Give the second guy a disqualification.”
