The fans reacted to the upset at UFC 285 via Twitter. Grasso defeated the reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion in round 5 via submission. The fans and fighters were shocked to see the new flyweight champion of the world. This even had an Amanda Nunes type of defeat written all over it as per some fans.

Round 1 started with both fighters looking for a striking fight. Both the fighters showed their technique in the first minute with some strikes. Both fighters had their moments in the opening stages of the fight. Grasso possibly out-landed in striking Shevchenko in the first round of the fight.

Round 2 saw the women flyweights again, starting with the same intensity as the last ended. Moreover, Shevchenko had control over the Mexican fighter at the opening minute. ‘Bullet’ tried to get submission holds over Grasso but failed in her attempts. The fight tilted in Shevchenko‘s favor by the end of round 2.

Round 3 saw both fighters engaging in technical boxing. ‘Bullet’ then smartly took her down, controlling her in full guard. Furthermore, ‘Bullet’ held her own throughout the round as she went for submission attempts. However, Grasso also attempted a guillotine choke on her opponent toward the end of the round.
