Therefore, even though ‘The Great’ defeated Holloway in their past two clashes, people believe the wins were controversial, especially their most recent showdown.

Hence, a trilogy bout will give ‘The Great’ a chance to put an end to all the controversy once and for all. Perhaps that is why, in his recent interviews, Volkanovski has shown an interest in fighting Holloway for the third time.

As of now, the promotion has set up a featherweight bout between ‘The Blessed’ and Yair Rodriguez. Hence, a fight against the winner of the featherweight bout between Holloway and Rodriguez seems like the perfect fight for the current champion.
