Jorge Masvidal bolted across the cage and landed arguably the best-placed flying knee in the sport’s history. The blow landed flush to Askren’s jaw and knocked him out before his body hit the canvas. Moreover, Masvidal’s post-fight celebration added fuel to the fire and didn’t help in turning over their intense rivalry.

The KO awarded Jorge Masvidal with the ‘2019 Fighter of the Year’ honors and more importantly cemented his star status. He’s one of the biggest draws in the promotion and is now fighting for gold for the second time. As for Askren, he’s preparing to box 2-0 YouTuber turned pro boxer Jake Paul in what is sure to be a spectacle.
