The Brazilian strawweight fighter was on a 5-fight winning streak before joining the UFC. She was a highly rated prospect when she joined Dana White‘s promotion in June 2021 at the age of 25. However, Tabatha Ricci did not expect to start her UFC career in the way that it did.
She suffered her first and only MMA loss on her debut against ‘The Beast’ Manon Fiorot, who also has only one loss in her entire MMA career, but is undefeated in the UFC.

Tabatha Ricci and Manon Fiorot locked horns at UFC Vegas 28 in a card that was headlined by Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai. It is important to note that Ricci took the fight on 4 days’ notice. Meanwhile, ‘The Beast’ started strong and put the debutante on the back foot from the very first round. Ricci showed some good striking defense. However, she lost the fight in the second round after a barrage of strokes from Fiorot that forced the referee to stop the fight.

The loss to Manon Fiorot might have brought a change in Tabatha Ricci’s approach as she went on to deliver some impressive performances after that fight. After fighting ‘The Beast’, she went on to fight Maria Oliveira and Polyana Viana. Ricci defeated both of them by securing unanimous decisions. Then she went on to win a fight by showcasing her grappling prowess.

Tabatha Ricci, in her fourth UFC fight, took on Jessica Penne. The fight saw both fighters spend a significant amount of time on the ground, trying to gain a dominant position. However, Ricci came out on top by catching Penne in an armbar position and tapping her out in the second round. Furthermore, she registered yet another unanimous decision win in her most recent fight at UFC on ABC 5 against Gillian Robertson.
