Tai Tuivasa is having a hard time in the UFC. The heavyweight fighter is currently riding a 3-fight-losing streak and he would like to overturn this. Regardless, his health might not help him that much. As mentioned above, Tuivasa just had surgery to remove his torn meniscus. ‘Bam Bam’ in a statement admitted that he had to undergo surgery to fight.

When asked about his preparation for the fight by Ariel Helwani, Tuivasa claimed that he was ready to fight even in the UFC 298 card but played it safe due to his surgery. At the UFC Fight Night 239 media day, Tuivasa claimed that he had some pressure but it’s natural to him.

He said, “There’s always pressure, but it’s no pressure I haven’t seen before. I’ve been here before in my life and infighting. My preparation has been good, so I’m relying on that. Marcin has been around for a long time – I’ve watched him for many years. He’s very experienced. I’m not going to be able to bring anything that he hasn’t seen before. I know his plan is to try to drag me through the rounds and then try to wear me down, I suppose. But this is the heavyweight division and I want to come down and come hard and try to get this job done.”

To give you an interesting stat, the last time Tuivasa was on a three-fight losing streak, he won his next five fights in a five-fight winning streak. Additionally, Tuivasa seems to be in a good mood ahead of his fight.
