‘DC’ shares a good rapport with several other fighters, too. But the brotherhood he has with ‘The Eagle’ is what fans like to see. A while back, while training together, Cormier stated he had the most submissions in a title fight. He was heard saying, “In everyone in this gym. I have more submissions in title fights than anybody. … He [Khabib Nurmagomedov] never passed”.

Addressing Khabib, he further said, “You got two title defense with choke. You got to pass me.”

Many found it endearing that Cormier wanted Khabib to pass him. This banter between him and Khabib took place quite a while back. But in a recent tweet, the American fighter finally admitted that Khabib passed. He tweeted, “@TeamKhabib we once had an argument who had more submissions in title fights, I believe you have now passed. Congrats young blood! This is crazy”.

Of course, it is great that Khabib too has three title defenses through submissions. But fans have wondered why it took so long for Cormier to admit this. Considering that Khabib submitted Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 during his third title defense, fans hilariously trolled ‘DC’ saying that he was using internet explorer.

Their conversations are fun to watch as they mock each other about silly stuff. For example, Daniel Cormier had made fun of Khabib’s jabs by calling them “baby jab” and said that he taught the Russian fighter how to jab. Or when Khabib joked about how winning the belt had changed Cormier.
