Khabib Nurmagomedov first began training at the American Kickboxing Academy in 2012. Since then, till now, Nurmagomedov has forged an amazing relationship with AKA head coach Javier Mendez. Mendez often posts videos of Nurmagomedov on his social media which are enjoyed by a lot of fans. Recently, Mendez uploaded a video trolling ‘The Eagle.’

Javier Mendez uploaded an Instagram reel and captioned it saying, “I’m working with my 🦅 family “Young🦅” @umar_nurmagomedov and @khabib_nurmagomedov on there English✅ But they won’t help me with Russian language because they want to keep secrets from me🤦🏽‍♂️😭 #dontteachcoach #secretlanguage”

In the video, Mendez says, “Good Mr Eagle. How are you? You are seeing your eagle. He is young eagle. Be quiet. Dont’t talk to me. Don’t bully me. Young eagle, tell old eagle to go up to the nest, to rest. We will take care of all the hard work. “

Further, when Mendez asked Nurmagomedov why he does not teach him the Russian language, Nurmagomedov said, “I think this is not good idea to you to learn Russian, because sometimes when we together, when we wanna hide something from you.”

In a video, fans can see Rockhold grapple with Nurmagomedov. ‘The Eagle’ is seen controlling Rockhold on the ground. This experience can be crucial for Rockhold.

Since his retirement, Nurmagomedov has put on some weight, which almost makes him an ideal training partner for Rockhold. In his career, ‘The Eagle’ was known for putting immense pressure, taking his opponents down and for his vicious submissions and ground and pound.

Considering Costa is yet to show his grappling skills in the octagon, this experience of training with Nurmagomedov can change the fight in Rockhold’s favor considering he will look to get back in the winning column after losing 2 straight fights.
