“Tell Your Moms To Follow Me”- Jake Paul Called Ben Askren’s Wife ‘THICC’ and Regretted It Immediately

Since the emergence of the internet, content creation has risen to an all-time high. This has affected combat sports too since we have seen a lot of content creators try their hands at boxing. Leading the pack of this switch is YouTube star turned boxer, Jake Paul. Known for his trash-talking, Paul had made comments about his opponent, Ben Askren’s wife, to which the latter gave a savage response.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Helwani asked Jake Paul why does he follow Ben Askren’s wife? To this, Jake Paul replied saying, “She is thicc bro. She is Thicc.”

Later, Amy Askren, the wife of Ben Askren, responded, saying, “I don’t know, I don’t know what it means.” On being asked if she had any message for her new fans, Amy Askren replied, “Tell your moms to follow me because they will probably stick around after all this is over.”

While Ben Askren’s wife might have had a savage response to Paul. Askren’s fight in the ring with Paul did not go according to plan for the former UFC fighter.

After a lot of talk and speculation about Jake Paul’s next fight, Ben Askren was revealed as Paul’s opponent. The combat sports community had mixed reactions to this news.

Jake Paul came into this fight with a pro boxing record of 2-0. Paul previously fought fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and basketball player Nate Robinson. Paul won both these fights via TKO in round 1.

Ben Askren came into the fight with what seemed a dip in form. Making his professional boxing debut, Askren was on a 2 fight losing streak in MMA having been knocked out by Jorge Masvidal and submitted by Demian Maia, respectively.

In the fight between Paul and Askren, Paul clearly seemed to have the size advantage. Jake Paul in the fight made use of the jab and tried to strike from range against Askren. Eventually, at 1:59 of Round 1, Paul landed a right hand preceded by a Jab which knocked down Askren.. Even though Askren got up, the Referee felt he was in no state to continue the fight and waved it off awarding a TKO victory to Paul.

Since then, Jake Paul has fought Tyron Woodley twice. Paul won both fights by split decision and knockout, respectively. Recently, Jake Paul announced on his Twitter account he would make his return to the ring on August 13, 2022. The venue and opponent are yet to be revealed.
