The fight gods appear to have no mercy for us fans. The eagerly awaited comeback of the ‘Heavyweight Goat’ Stipe Miocic might be delayed or, heaven forbid, even dusted into oblivion now that Jon Jones has suffered a severe injury and is set to be sidelined for months. And to add more fuel to the fire, Miocic is hinting at retirement. The epic GOAT vs. GOAT matchup that was meant to set the wreck havoc at 295 now feels like it’s teetering on the edge, like a house of cards in a windstorm. It’s almost as if the fight gods are playing a game of luck with UFC.

Stipe Miocic surprises fans with his move

UFC’s Topman Dana White took to Instagram to share some concerning news regarding Jon Jones. He revealed that Jones had recently experienced a torn pectoral tendon during a wrestling training session. White shared footage that featured Jones in a wrestling session with his training partner, only to halt and clutch his injured chest in obvious pain suddenly.

Stipe Miocic, who was already on the verge of retirement, is out of the equation with Jon Jones. Their fight has been replaced with Tom Aspinall vs. Sergei Pavlovich. However, Miocic uploaded a post on his Instagram handle that stated that he is on OnlyF*ans now. The post stated that he would be telling his backstage stories of his fighting days.

The fans are clearly perplexed by this abrupt turn of events. Notably, they suggest that Dana White ought to increase fighter compensation to a level where they don’t feel compelled to resort to such desperate measures. It must be noted that Miocic has been pushing for retirement but White has confirmed that Miocic will face Jones next year.
