Amanda Nunes is arguably one of the best fighters in the UFC. Occupying two titles and simultaneously defending both is a tough job, but Nunes does it effortlessly. She loves fighting and wants to continue defending both her belts.

Ahead of her UFC 269 fight, Nunes, in a conversation with Kevin Iole, discussed her dominance over both the divisions. The women’s featherweight division has always been a problem because of not having enough talented fighters. But it seems that the champ’s decision will ultimately affect the entire division. If she discontinues fighting for the division, it might close and the other fighters would be affected.

Speaking about the featherweight division, Nunes said, “As long as I’m like still like wanna fight, it’s gonna be open, you know. Like, because I hold the two belts. If I stop right now, it’s like ‘Oh, I’m not gonna, I’m not gonna do featherweight anymore’ and I’m still doing bantamweight. So, you know like I have two. I got two, why why not defend both. Leave it open and yeah, I think like that is gonna be open for a while, until I retire.”

“I feel like I have a lot of, many fights fighters still walking, still wanna, you know, be in the UFC and I will be there to defend the belt.”
