The world of mixed martial arts has split in half after Dana White announced that Colby Covington would have the next chance to fight for the UFC welterweight title. While many fans stood in support of the decision, others were left dissatisfied. On top of that, even professional fighters exhibited displeasure with the decision. 

Recently, Paulo Costa took to Twitter and displayed his apparent annoyance with ‘Chaos’. He shared a picture that showed Covington getting hit with a powerful punch. As soon as the Brazilian warrior posted the tweet, fans poured in their thoughts in the comments section. While many fans joined forces with Costa and trolled Covington, others stood firm in Covington’s corner.

The nomination of Covington to go for the welterweight title shot against Leon Edwards upset many fans as well as professionals. Covington’s rival, Jorge Masvidal believed that it would be he who’d get the title shot ahead of ‘Chaos’. Further, ‘Borrachinha’ decided to troll the welterweight fighter. 

Costa tweeted a picture of ‘Chaos’ getting hit by a punch, with the words, “THAT TIME COLBY TURNED INTO THE THIRD NOGUEIRA” written at the top. The comparison of the punch with Minotauro Nogueira seemed funny to the fans. He further captioned, “Have a good nightz mtfks.” without a doubt, the fans quickly took over the comments and opined to the post.

Undeniably, the fans found the tweet to be extremely funny

Many UFC fans chimed in and made fun of ‘Chaos’.

Furthermore, some fans revisited the time Covington sued Masvidal.

One of the fans pointed out that Costa doesn’t have the ‘Dana White privilege’.

Moreover, some fans thought Covington could defeat the Brazilian with ease.

Nevertheless, Costa made it known that he was not in support of the Covington fighting for the title.

Dana White believes Covington deserves the title shot

During the UFC San Antonio press conference, the UFC president was rigid in the decision of letting Covington fight Edwards. As one of the reporters asked if there was a chance of ‘Chaos’ not getting the fight, White revealed why he thought Covington deserved the title shot.

Finally, he said that once a fighter becomes a champion, everyone in his weight class starts aiming to fight him and take the belt. There was no exemption for ‘Rocky’. He said, “You’re the guy. Everybody is coming after you. It’s gonna be Colby next.”
