Except for the fully stacked card, one of the main attractions at UFC 268 was Halle Berry. The Hollywood star was there to oversee the ceremonial weigh-in face-off of Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili. After Namajunas won the back-and-forth battle against her opponent, Berry even put the belt on the champion.

However, Namajunas at first didn’t even realize it was Berry who was standing for the weigh-in face-off. She said it was awesome that the Hollywood star put the belt on her. Namajunas said, “That was super-awesome. At the weigh-ins, I was so lasered and focused and I didn’t notice until, like, right before they were about to read the decision. I was like, ‘Oh, there’s Halle Berry! She’s in here.”

“And then we kind of just like exchanged a couple of words but she’s like, ‘I love you!’ and I’m like, ‘I love you too!’ But I didn’t know that was her putting on the belt for me. I just heard Dana saying, ‘Hold on, Rose. Hold on,’ because I was like having trouble getting it on. But I didn’t know that was her doing that,” she added.

During an interview, Berry revealed what it felt like during the weigh-in face-off. Berry said, “This is real. This is intense. I love this game, I love these fighters. It’s amazing. Their energy coming off their bodies, I have worked with many fighters now and have been on this journey for three years. The energy they are carrying right now is palpable.”

After a hard-fought win against Weili, ‘Thug Rose’ would look for some time off. According to many, her next opponent should be Carla Esparza, but UFC President Dana White doesn’t seem in favor of that. While Namajunas had talked about how she will take some time off, she also revealed she will look to return to action in April 2022.

While for now Namajunas’ opponent is not decided, soon everyone will know who the champion will face.
