Contender series graduate Victoria Dudakova and Brazilian strawweight warrior, Istela Nunes, had just begun to exchange blows at UFC Vegas 77 as they let their hands loose at each other. However, the fight ended as soon as it began. The Russian mixed martial artist claimed a win in her promotional debut by defeating Nunes via a TKO in the first round. 

Things began smoothly, with Dudakova drawing closer to Nunes. But one can’t take the grappler out of a fighter. And things don’t go as planned, most of the time. 

As Dudakova lurched in to attempt a single-leg takedown, Nunes put her hands out in order to defend herself. But as she went down, the Brazilian’s left arm exploded and bent in the way it’s not supposed to bend. Without a doubt, the fighter felt a pang of pain as she sent shrills down the spines of the audience with her shrieks.

Soon after, the medical team rushed onto the Octagon to the fallen warrior’s aid. Nunes rolled on the canvas, letting out cries filled with unbearable pain. It was indeed a gruesome injury for the Brazilian.

The world of mixed martial arts quickly turned to Twitter to share emotions. Even the UFC president, Dana White, declared that it was not what he wanted to see.

The fans also sided with the UFC boss.

Jed I. Goodman, however, declared that Dudakova became the 175th female mixed martial artist to have captured a victory in the UFC. 

But the fight didn’t fail to raise some opinions regarding the wins. 

With the fighter writhing in pain, there was not a soul in the arena who wasn’t taken aback. Watching a fighter as strong as Nunes screaming in pain wasn’t something the netizens imagined would happen inside the Octagon. But all that did was add yet another victory under the undefeated Russian’s belt.
