Francis Ngannou has beaten some of the best MMA fighters in the UFC. As such, there aren’t many fighters left for him to fight, which would be called a big-money fight. Keeping this in mind, PFL president Peter Murray mentioned that Jon Jones is the only logical opponent for ‘The Predator’ now. Moreover, he also suggested the only way they can make that fight happen.

Francis Ngannou has made a big mark in the sport of boxing, going toe-to-toe against Tyson Fury. He is buzzing in the combat sports arena. Although he has plans to box again, he also wants to compete in MMA fights. Peter Murry claims that Jon Jones is the ideal opponent for an MMA fight. Let’s see what he had to say.

Recently, PFL founder Donn Davis mentioned that the only interesting MMA fight for their Cameroonian-French heavyweight is a fight against Jon Jones. It seems like Peter Murray shares the same sentiment. He also wants to see that fight happen. Murray said, “I do agree that’s the fight [Jones vs Ngannou]. I agree with Donn.”

He further stated that the fight between Jon Jones is what the MMA fans want to see. They are two of the biggest heavyweight fighters in the world and both have expressed their wish to fight each other many times. Hence, it is the most logical matchup for both Jones and Ngannou.

“I mean, that is the fight that fans want and by the way, that’s the fight that Jon Jones wants. That’s the fight that Francis wants [and] that’s number one on both of their lists,” said the PFL president.

However, Jon Jones is currently signed with the UFC. As we already know, the fighters in Dana White’s promotion have somewhat of a restrictive contract. They aren’t able to pursue other endeavors while being signed at the UFC. So Peter Murray also mentioned the only way the Jones vs Ngannou fight can take place.

Murray mentioned that Dana White and the UFC will have to join hands with the PFL to make the biggest heavyweight clash a reality

The PFL president mentioned that to make the Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones fight happen, the UFC and CEO Dana White will have to be on the same page as them. Moreover, he wants to make that fight, which he believes would be one of the biggest MMA fights ever. Murray further stated, “We would love to deliver it and that just will take two parties coming together and make it possible and it would be epic.”

However, the PFL cannot force the UFC to get interested in making that fight. They can only do their part. “We’re certainly keen to do it, but we can only control what we control,” said Peter Murray. Nevertheless, the PFL president is also looking forward to other fights that Francis Ngannou can compete in, and one of them is a boxing match against Deontay Wilder. “What I will tell you, yeah, I have a job to do and there are other fighters that we are excited about, the fans will be excited about. Deontay Wilder being one of them,” Peter Murray added.
