Upon the mention, Rogan shows his disapproval of the app and says, “That’s the worst. That’s Chinese spyware”
Why the ban?
What is the reason to ban the most popular app of all time? Several governments across the world have accused the app of being spyware. Considering the country of origin, other nations don’t want privacy intrusion at the hands of the Chinese government.
Following the ban in several other countries, the US government has also hopped onto the trend. The app has had a long history of occupying user data without permission. This also includes gathering biometric data. The app can also track locations and access browsing data irrelevant to its primary interest.
