As soon as the ‘Mighty Mouse’ was declared the victor and reigning flyweight champion of ONE Championship, the world of mixed martial arts went into a frenzy. Both of the contenders fought valiantly against each other, but it was Johnson who didn’t lose his belt. Although he previously hinted at his retirement, Johnson went ahead and squared-off against Akhmetov, a challenger who had set his eyes on the belt.

Chatri Sityodtong, the head of ONE Championship, recently appeared in an interview with the former UFC fighter, Chael Sonnen. With Johnson’s hint of retirement running wild, the two men were destined to have a talk about it. Surprisingly, Sityodtong deemed it to be a curse.
