Ciryl Gane defeated Derrick Lewis to win the UFC interim heavyweight title at UFC 265. ‘Bon Gamin’ won that fight after he TKO’d Lewis in the third round. Ever since this victory, people from all over the world have been congratulating Gane for his victory.

Recently UFC color commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan praise Gane. Talking about Gane’s performance against ‘The Black Beast’, Rogan was all praise for the newly crowned champion. He said, “Ciryl Gane beat the sh*t out of him. He shut him out.”

“It was a shutout for; I think he stopped him in the third. Ciryl Gane, who is 6’5”, 247 pounds, moves like a 170-pounder. It’s crazy, that, he’s bouncing like ‘Wonderboy’ the entire fight and bouncing and throwing feints.”

“There’s no question he is the best-moving heavyweight I’ve ever seen. The best-moving. Every time Derrick Lewis goes to set up, to move towards him, Ciryl Gane is nowhere to be found. He lit Derrick Lewis up and every time Derrick Lewis comes to him, his movement in terms of closing the distance is spectacular and I was severely impressed.”

Joe Rogan believes Ciryl Gane was spectacular against Derrick Lewis

Rogan talked about how Gane had defeated some excellent fighters prior to this fight. However, his victory against someone like Lewis really proved why he is amongst the best fighters in the UFC.

He said, “He had beaten a lot of really good guys. He beat Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and he beat Junior dos Santos, whose best days are behind him, but he’s beaten some very, very good fighters.”

“But to watch the way he beat Derrick Lewis, who is a legit one-punch knockout threat, and the technical acumen that he showed, the skill, the technique, the footwork, the movement, the understanding of distance, the ability to control everything that happened inside the octagon, that was spectacular.”

Gane is currently the interim UFC heavyweight champion and is undefeated in his MMA career. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that his performances have highly impressed many people, including Rogan. However, the biggest test of Gane’s career will come when he will face Francis Ngannou for the undisputed title.
