Recently, UFC women’s strawweight fighter Claudia Gadelha announced her retirement from professional MMA. The Brazilian was one of the first fighters to compete in the UFC’s 115-pound division. Notably, Gadelha faced Tina Lahdemaki in the UFC’s first strawweight fight, which she won by unanimous decision. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old has shared an interesting story from her early days in the UFC.

Claudia Gadelha narrated a story from back when she was a part of the Ultimate Fighter 23. Gadelha talked about the time she got into a scuffle with former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Interestingly, there was a lot of animosity between both the fighters on-screen. However, things were even worse backstage.

Also, ‘Claudinha’ revealed that both of them tried to get away from the cameras to have a go at each other. However, they were always accompanied by security, due to fear of a brawl between the two.

“But, on the last day of shooting, she went to the bathroom and when she was leaving, I went too. We crossed midway, looked at each other, and when we were a little farther away, she cursed me and I cursed her. We went on top of each other, I landed a kick in her stomach, and when the bouncer caught her, she threw a bottle of water at me, which missed me and threw several punches in the air. I started laughing, and she went crazy,” Gadelha told AJFight.

Gadelha and Jedrzejczyk were coaches on the Ultimate Fighter 23. Later, the duo met in a strawweight title championship match in the Finale of the Ultimate fighter, which Jedrzejczyk won via unanimous decision.

“It was very frustrating because my headaches were like a knife stabbing the back of my head. I was very nauseous, I was throwing up and feeling very, very bad. Couldn’t even go for a walk, couldn’t train. It was very frustrating,” ‘Claudinha’ stated in an Instagram post.
